Penalized

I purchased this app when it was first released. Now Im being penalized for my purchase because the developer has decided to release an ad driven free version. Because I supported this app at its introduction, I am not allowed access to the latest version release. Yes, I could download the free version with ads, but why should I suffer with ad pop-ups when I paid for an ad free version? It seems the developer has little interest in his customers and is only concerned with the revenue dollars.
